Second Life is a three-dimensional online virtual environment where avatars do what actual people do in real life: shop. Sell items. Gamble. Play some music. Purchase real estate. Flirt. Play video games. Watch films.
Second Life is more than just a sophisticated chat room; residents can do a lot more than just talk to one another. For one thing, users may make a difference in the world by constructing structures, objects, and even animations. User-generated content is what residents add to the virtual world, and it's one of the things that makes Second Life such a unique online environment.
