Edmodo is a free learning management system that combines classroom content, secure communication, and assessment with social media expertise. Students and parents can use the student planner and discussion threads to get quick answers to questions and stay up to date on class assignments and events. To get student input on the day's topic or to quickly assess understanding, post a warm-up question or take a quick poll. Use teacher-created assessments to save time and have Edmodo do some or all of the grading for you. Virtually collect, grade, and return student essays.
Students will benefit from the platform as well. They can get extra help from their peers and instructors. They can also submit work for teacher review and receive immediate feedback, including teacher annotations. Students can learn how to interact safely and appropriately online in addition to joining groups for clubs, sports, and other activities.
